James do you know what happened with channel 6456 KEMO uplinked on January 15th? I really wanted this channel but it has disappeared. Dish network support was not able to help. They are not even aware the channel existed.

It is still uplinked and "Available (Limited)" ... basically still testing. They may be having issues with the signal or are still finishing up a carriage contract. Support won't know about the channel (at least they will not be able to acknowledge the channel) until it is fully available to customers.

Yeah I was wondering what "Limited" meant. They uplinked 6541 KKPX on the same day. This one also says limited but is currently working. So it might be a carriage contract like you said for KEMO.

KKPX lost the "limited" label on Jan 29th.

I started labeling channels with a certain range of auth codes as "limited" because people were confused when they saw "available" on a channel no customer could get. "Not Available" is a single specific auth code that has been placed on test channels for over a decade - with any channel without that code available to someone. DISH can authorize a receiver to receive the special "limited" channels without authorizing the receiver to receive all "not available" channels - which makes the codes perfect for testing new channels. Especially important when there are two "not available" channels on the same channel number - if a receiver is authorized for both channels and both are on satellites the receiver can receive it a guess as to which one the receiver would display. Somewhere someone can watch the KEMO feed without conflict with other channels or seeing other channels DISH is testing.
