both?  that seems like a huge waste of money...why not spend $150 on a slingbox? you'd have basically the same thing...

not really 2 houses and roku boxes plus traveling on road a lot ... BTW I have slingbox too ..Mostly for Sunday ticket at 2nd house but it is not perfect even with Port Forwarding etc. MLB.TV is as close as you get to Extra Innings on DirecTV when not at home and if you have a connected device Roku, WDTV Live, AppleTV etc. it is almost as good (not quite but almost)

one other thing I love to watch certain feeds and while D* has a ton of feeds in HD MLB.TV has every one available.

you think directv is slow with getting us info?  it could be worse...check out this gem from indemand's website:

At least it is accurate. Sort of. They had the series in Tokyo in late March in 2012.

i would imagine with the games being on mlb network they're exclusive, i.e. blacked out and still not relevant for the purposes of EI and mlb.tv. it's a season opening series in australia, not some random regular season game on a tuesday night in april. i wouldn't be surprised at all if mlb network had them exclusively.

Since u are just guessing. I would guess it would be on MLB.TV. Why blackout users/fans when that is the purpose of MLB.tv.

Not all fans have MLB Network, and these two games are not have to watch games that someone would rush to get it either.

MLB Network does not have any exclusive games during the regular season. Their games are like weeknight ESPN games, still broadcast by regional outlets and available on MLB.TV and Extra Innings.

Directv iPad app opened with splash screen saying "Extra Innings now with MLB.tv!"

No mention if premium or not.

Are the radio broadcasts on "at bat" part of the premium or regular package?

Premium. Regular MLB.TV doesn't include at bat...

Again, this isn't some random Tuesday night game in April between two small market teams...this is a season opening series in Australia with one of the premiere and most well known teams on the planet.

It almost has to be premium...why would they be pushing it on the iPad app if you aren't going to be able to watch games on your iPad?

Well. It's quite evident it's with MLB.tv this year. Just wish they would update the website and let us know what's going on. The season is approaching, I don't know what the hold up is.

Exactly what I was thinking as well.

I'm leaning toward premium because fios is saying watch anywhere. But the ad being on the iPad app doesn't prove it to me. They advertise directv on the splash screen, not just mobile things.

The Dodgers-Dbacks game is on FS Arizona and SportsNet LA.  Based on previous years, MLB EI should be airing the game (FS AZ feed and possibly SportsNet feed) -- in addition to MLB Network simulcast.

That is unless EI is going the way of NHL CI and not allowing games it is airing to be on EI.  Or possibly because the package doesn't officially begin until March 31.

Question -- Is MLB Network going to just take the SportsNet LA feed (i.e., Vin Scully), or are they sending a crew to Australia?

You mean the world champion Diamondbacks I'm sure.  :righton:

What I don't understand if EI and MLBTV are being bundled why not advertise it on their own web site. Why CSR's and even retention are still acting dumb about it. http://www.directv.com/sports/mlb

I think there is a issue and it may not happen. Even if the Ipad app says its happening. Until Directv says its so, it isn't.

I would imagine they are stilling working out how we login to the MLB.TV account.  I strongly believe it will be available this season.  Makes no sense to have it on a commercial and on their ipad app if its not true.

I posted a more detailed description of my call in the other MLB thread in this forum but basically, I talked to a CSR who has the script for this season.  She verifyed MLB.tv and that it includes tablet and mobile phone capabilities.  She also said that doesn't start until 3/31.

Just a caveat to those with the original iPad 1: MLB.tv will NOT be compatible on this device. Despite contrary indications on MLB.tv.'s pages, there is no longer a 5.0 IOS app available. (That's as high as upgrades can go with this tablet.) I confirmed this with a tech rep.

After wasting 45 minutes with two chat CSRs, of course.

I had EI for years with DirecTV and canceled about 3 years ago and went with MLB.TV instead because of the cost, the ability to watch on more devices, archived games that I can watch any time of the year, and the ability to get around those lame blackout rules using a location spoofer on my JB iDevices.  When I found out about EI and MLB.TV being combined, and how they are loosening up some of their ridiculous Blackout Rules, I decided to call DirecTV to see if they can get me a deal with EI closer to the price of MLB.TV.  They ended up taking $10 off my total bill for the next year.  So I am going to save $120.  This means that I will now be getting EI and MLB.TV combined for a total of $78.

When I called I told the CSR my story of why I switched from EI to MLB.TV and she told me that they will be bundled together this year and that it will start on 3/31.

The DirecTV website was updated today to reflect inclusion of MLB.TV, specifically referencing mobile and connected (Playstation, Xbox, etc) devices. Also mentions apparent inclusion of MLB Network.

Edit: Not yet available to order online.
