User deletion of a thread you started does not work.  When i select delete I get this:

You do not have permission to delete this topic.

Need Help?

This was tried when the opening post was the only post

Don't know about this software, but on the vBulletin board I administer...

If you delete the first post in a thread, it kills the entire thread.  vBulletin (our outdated version, at least) doesn't provide the ability to differentiate between deleting your own post as first post vs deleting your own post later in a thread, nor to differentiate whether there had been replies to your post.  We were forced to turn the ability for non-moderators to delete posts off altogether.  Maybe it's the same here.

If I recall correctly our old vBulletin would allow regular users to delete threads they started IF there were no replies. Once someone replied the thread could not be deleted by regular users. I thought the current software worked the same.

It does not come up enough that it is not thought about really.  But I do not recalling allowing for posts that start threads to be removed. Might have on Vb, but I do not recall it on IP.Board software.  If you have a thread you want removed, please report the post and kindly state the reason.

Yes, on vB, you could delete a thread if you created it and there were no replies yet.
