I'm glad we got the Protection Plan. We're now on our third HR 44-500 and have had Tech III in our house. We've had cables and the splitter replaced, every receptor checked and many replaced, the mini wired and replaced and still we get pixilation. Mostly after pausing, some live and mostly recorded. We started out thinking everything would be fine when it was discovered that we weren't getting software updates and therefore closed captioning wasn't working, but that was the easy answer. Now we've been shuffled from one field office to another, just when we were told we were going to have a live conference with engineers on the phone.
Now, we're back to having a field supervisor come back out to the home and check equipment and do paperwork so engineers can start over again. We're told this is a unique situation with pixilation and nobody has this with a HR44-500. We've sent numerous SENDREPORTALL to engineering and have had feedback. The word we get is that they may just pull the Genie because it's "too sensitive" and put us on a legacy box. As they won't tell us why we're having a problem, we're resisting that. Others in the neighborhood don't seem to be having problems so we can't see why we should.
We never had problems before Genie. We've charted the problems. It's definitely connected with us pausing, although pixilation does occur out of the blue. There are no ham operators in the area, If there were, it would stop when they did.
Can anyone suggest anything else to look at, or another course of action?
