New DIRECTV Blimp to Light up the Skies in 2014

Van Wagner unveils new Lightship equipped with the world's only 2,100 sq. ft. LED Lightsign screen

I'll have to keep an eye out. I live near the airport where all the blimps come into when they are in town.

It's good advertising, and I'd think they'd get paid to provide coverage of sporting events.

And there won't be many blimps around, just this and MetLife, since Goodyear is moving to the Zeppelin this year.

You might think in terms of advertising, attracting new customers, keeping others, which actually help keep our costs down, as the bigger the base, the more to spread fixed costs over.

Your rate increases go to pay for additional programming costs.  Marketing budgets didn't get any bigger.   Dish has no blimp, their rates went up even higher.

In fact, Mike mentioned to me he's forgoing part of a raise just to cover the cost of the blimp's operation.

Is the blimp transparent to Ka and Ku signals ?

Annoying if the damn thing is blocking MY dish and I can't watch Green Acres.

Everybody looks at these blimps. They're the best billboard in the world of billboards.

I'm sure he can spare it.
