When we had the older version of this forum software I liked when I started a thread it would let you know if something similar was already discussed. This made it easier for me choose to start a new thread or not. Now I have to browse and search the forms to make sure I'm not posting something that has already been discussed. Is there a way I can make this appear again.

Using the Search function would be your best bet.

Could I make a suggestion if it is possible to bring back that option?

The last I remember the feature is not available for this forum software. It was handy, but it was also often ignored by people who just started their own threads anyways. And often the thread the forum software would suggest would be a year or more old and not need waking from the graveyard. (Sometimes starting a new thread is a better idea than waking a long dead thread.)

As long as people are starting threads in the right areas it shouldn't be hard to see any current threads on the same topics ... and we moderators will keep an eye out for threads in the wrong areas or duplicates.

Different software company. This forum came off vBulletin and that was a vBulletin add-on.

I'll second what James said...  we noticed that it wasn't something available when we moved to this platform, and we also noticed how having the feature on the old platform really wasn't cutting down on thread maintenance...  I think my own observations bear this out so far...  I can't remember doing any more work on dupe/merging/moving threads than I did last year before the move to this new forum.
