From Fox News:

A spokesman for the family of comedian David Brenner says the "Tonight Show" favorite has died. He was 78.

Brenner died Saturday afternoon at his home in New York City, said Jeff Abraham, who was Brenner's publicist.

The gangly, toothy Brenner made more than 150 appearances as a guest and substitute host on Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show," starting in the 1970s.

His "Tonight" exposure turned the former documentary filmmaker into a hot comedian. Brenner was a regular on other TV talk shows and game shows and starred in four HBO comedy specials. He also briefly hosted his own syndicated talk show in 1987.

And they just keep moving on....

He was a great comic. Take a full 8 minutes and watch this whole interview with Carson:

RIP David.

Heard on the news this morning he asked to be buried with $100 in small bills tucked into one of his socks. Just in case wherever he's going, he needs to tip. :)

"Does anyone really think that hunters are fooling the animals with that camouflage they wear, like, 'Oh.  That's not a hunter.  That's just a bush' ?  I mean, if a moose was in my livingroom and it had a picture of a refrigerator taped to its chest, would I think, " 'That's just a refrigerator' "?

That interview makes me wonder if Weekend with Bernie was a riff on one of his routines?

He has not been in the public eye for some time, but he still will be missed. I liked that guy. I've also never heard an unkind word about him, so a lot of other people probably liked him too.

It's usually safe to talk honestly and openly with people because they typically are not really listening anyway.
