I am getting 771 error on and off on several receivers. If a tech comes and its working fine at the time, will he do anything else? Thanks

He may replace the splitter (if you have one) and throw the old one on the ground like they did mine.  Did nothing to fix the problem the next time the temp went below 0° again, but I guess they can't just walk away and do nothing.

Sure, he's supposed to "open" all the fittings and make sure they are "clean" and not corroded and he also has to make sure the job is up to specs.

your "problem" is kind of "rare"  as when the temp goes that low, is most likely the center conductor shrinking.  if you make it too long, it affect signal as well, so

Looks like a bad coax connection on the 13 volt tone input from the dish/LNB.

You could swap it with the 18 volt tone and see if the 103 "zeros" change from odd to even.

Do I swap the cables at the switch for 103 or the 99 connections?

103 has the zeros, so I'd swap the two and see if they changed from odd to even, "but" you could just the same swap it with one of the 99s and see if the 99 had zeros.

Ok I swapped the 103 cables and no change to read outs. What dish type should I be on? Now it's 03 slimline-3

The dish type doesn't really matter as the SWiM-16 overrides it.

Guess you now know what to show the tech and check before he/she leaves.

Could be a bad LNB, or maybe the SWiM.

Sounds like you are going to Case Management.

Have you and any other issues recently?

Did some more poking around, the genie does not have the error and it comes straight off the swm16. The other 3 Dvrs come off the 16 to a 8 block splitter and all those Dvrs have the sat error. Could one side of the 16 be bad or splitter? Thanks

Maybe the -16, which Peds48 thinks, but not a splitter.
