Saw this on local affiliate WDSU (http://www.wdsu.com/....ement/25332580):

NOTICE TO DISH SUBSCRIBERS: WDSU's parent company, Hearst Television, is currently negotiating a renewal of its carriage agreement with DISH.

If negotiations are not successfully concluded before Tuesday, April 8th, at 9 p.m., you may not be able to view WDSU on DISH if carriage is no longer authorized.
However, you will be able to receive WDSU over the air and from other cable providers such as Charter and DirecTV.
Check back for updates.

Dish has posted the following on a separate channel near the Hearst Television affiliate (channel 7 for WDSU channel 6 in this case):

Hearst Television is threatening to block access to one of your local channels.

Hearst is making unreasonable demands for carriage on Dish.

At DISH, we believe the customer should always come first. That's why we work hard to bring you the best programming at a fair price.

I'll lose WBAL (NBC, Baltimore) and guide data for WGAL (NBC, Lancaster, PA).  No biggie for me as I can get OTA programming with guide data from WRC in Washington, DC.

I just wish Dish wouldn't block OTA guide data so I don't have to juggle timers to the DC stations.  Since they purchase the guide data from another source, it should be legal for them to continue to provide it.

WGAL isn't a huge loss as almost anyone can get that with an antenna here.

Here in Pittsburgh it is a big deal due to our topography it is not always easy to get the OTA signal for WTAE our ABC affiliate in all areas of the viewing region.

Guess I will be calling when they turn the channel off to ask for some kind of programming credit. Last time I got free HBO for 3 months an other time I got $10. These disputes seem to come and go.

The expiration of the current agreement isn't until 10 PM EDT tonight.  Then you will find out if there's been an extension or a new contract.

Wdsu. NBC 6 in New Orleans is gone from Dish.

In the info it says. " wdsu has blocked your access to this channel. For more info visit dishvaluepledge.com or call Joel Vilmensy at 504 679 0600.

There is a video playing telling how the broadcasters want too much money AND to call congress and tell them to change the outdated tv rules.

WLKY in Louisville is gone as well. I don't watch anything on there except for Big Bang anyway.

RIP Insight.

Just got the following: "We are pleased to announce that DISH and Hearst Television have reached a multi-year agreement."

That was quick .
