There's nothing wrong with the service per say, but the customer service is abysmal. There are some definite annoyances though such as limited HD movie channels (1 per movie "family," really?), surround sound is not passed through on a lot of the programming, and the PQ is worse than I expected.
So I called DTV this morning to cancel my disconnect (glad I delayed it for a week just in case), and since I haven't been on contract for awhile, was able to get my equipment upgraded. I'm moving to an HR44 (hopefully) and a Mini, and keeping my HR24 to use as a DVR in one of the rooms. I think my other 2 boxes being replaced are an H24 and 22.
Any tips or things to watch out for these days? It's obviously been awhile since I had new equipment installed and want to make sure I get it done right. Will there be new modules/cabling needed? My biggest complaint is the fact that my dish is installed on the roof while no one else in the neighborhood had an issue getting theirs installed on the ground, but I guess that's a conversation to have with the technician. Any feedback is appreciated!
