I saw an ad for this, never would have expected WGN, but I don't think I've actually watched anything on that channel since Bozo.

They are billing it as historical fiction based around the Manhattan Project. The set design looks good at least.

I've seen a few commercials on it. Probably when I'm watching WGN's Salem.

What? Never a Cubs game?

WGN isn't in my package, so it would take a lot for me to want to watch anything there. But I did read that this is the new focus of WGN, IOW, having new dramas like the big cable channels do. Hence, Salem, and this one.

Does sounds interesting. I Notice that Salem season one is on Amazon so hopefully they will show it later on Amazon.

Ps would appreciate it if a member of the Grammar police could correct the above sentence. Just does not sounds right to me. :)

I'm not a member of the grammar police, but how about this?

"It does look interesting. I noticed that Amazon has Salem, so hopefully they'll add Manhattan."

My main concern is historical accuracy. How fictionalized it is, other than not having Oppenheimer etc.

My main concern would be if it were entertaining or not. Forget historical accuracy. Rewriting history could do no damage beyond what atomic bombs have done already. But if there are vampires or zombies, that might be a little much.

They did not hurt Lincoln. :)

I don't think they helped him much. But yes, that whole "Vampire Hunter" thing did cross my mind.

Unless a lot of the people involve kept diaries that now be made public -- this will mostly be deductions from written articles of the time.

That would be fine, basically what I'm hoping is that there isn't anything blatant, like they really didn't try. To compare it to scientific accuracy in movies, I'm not expecting 2001: A Space Odyssey, but don't want it to be Armageddon. I can handle Deep Impact :)

Well the first episode was very interesting.

I know it is on WGN, but it was also on The CW WPIX in NYC. But I can't find a followup WPIX episode.

Oppenheimer at least has a cameo in the first episode.  Looks this series is worth trying a few eps, for sure.  Certainly no worse than any other summer fare out there.

Potentially soapy drama (no problem for me, as long as it doesn't go too far over the top), but I am finding fascination w/the historical setting and such.  (I'm sure the real story must have contained plenty of actual drama.)

They certainly did a good job cross-promoting this series on D* (History channel, etc.)

I think that the second episode was better than the first.  I wasn't completely sold on the primer.

The joys of a DVR. We don't have to remember when something is on.
