Recently within the past month my Harmony One remote is not working very well with my DirecTV HR34. Is has a very slow response time sometimes, other times it works like it use to.

Has anyone else experienced this with their Harmony remote(s) and the DirecTV HDDVRs?

I am guessing it has something to do with the updates from DirecTV for the HR34??????

Thanks for anyone's help with this frustrating problem.

I doubt it has anything to do with the remote itself.  try doing an smart search for CLEARMYBOX see if that helps

Press a button on the remote like the Guide, Play, Channel Up or Down.

While pressing those buttons pay attention to the front of the receiver. If the power light flashes as soon as you press the button then the Remote is fine and the problem is in the Receiver.

Have you checked your signal strengths ? If a tree has grown up and into the path of the signal to your dish it can cause a spotty responding remote.

I have noticed the same problem recently with my Harmony One on my HR34.  I was thinking that remote was starting to die.

I'm with the others saying this is more likely an issue with the HR34 and not the Harmony One.  Try using the DirecTV remote for a little while and see if it is any more responsive.

The inter key delay onan38 mentioned could help speed up the remote, but I doubt it is the cause of this issue since you seem to be saying that your remote used to have better response and it has gotten worse.  Unless you changed the programming of your remote to increase the inter key delay then it shouldn't be the cause.  That said I usually do go in and lower the inter key delay on most of my devices as much as I can until they start missing commands.  I also lower the number of repeats (most devices can get away with 0 repeats).  Lowering these do make a big difference in how responsive your remote is for each of your devices.  Agian though if this is a recent change in the way your HR34 is acting I doubt it is the remote.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver."

I'm seeing this bit of slow response with my Harmony 1 and HR44.  Tested with the D* remote and all is quicker.
