"There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."

It's "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

In the South, we sometimes add: "...fool me twice, I'll slap yo momma!" ;)

I believe he was quoting a famous Texan who got the quote a little off.

Sounds good. Hopefully she'll pass the energy on to the one doing the fooling.

Oh yeah, now I remember...mission accomplished!

Thanks, and a nod to Mike for recalling a classic presidential goof...and sorry for thinking you might be losing (not loosing) it.

Just call me Captain Obvious.

For a moment it could have been Captain Oblivious ... just as long as it isn't Captain Underpants.

"You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."

Without going into any detail, I'm willing to agree that the universe exists. How it started, how long ago, and how long it will last may not have been pinned down yet and may never be.

Very logical.  Something certainly exists, what it is and what it's there for has always baffled me.

BTW, I just noticed you live in Southern CA, not Northern CA.  For some reason I was certain you lived in the north, couldn't figure out your references to being close to the beach.  Just noticed your location under your avatar.  Another example of my never ending acts of random stupidity.

I guess that accounts for the guys on my ship from the South doing the downs after lights out.  As soon as the lights went out, someone would say, "Your momma so ugly..." and the reply would be, "How ugly is she?"  That would go on for a bit almost every night.  Heard some pretty funny stuff that the Mods would crucify me for repeating.

My son does that.  My wife does that.  My granddaughter does that.  I don't.  I used to live with a lovely girl that took her outer clothes off as soon as she walked in the door, I liked that and it didn't have anything to do with age.

Something exists that Humans have named 'Universe'.

Began, aging, expanding, will die are all Human terms.

It just is.  Whatever it is.

It always has been.  It always will be.  It may be changing, or it may not be.

We don't need to understand it to be a part of it.

Got a whole lot worse than that.  First time I heard them doing the downs I expected a fight to break out.  Nothing ever happened tho and it was pretty funny.

You're right, I gave up trying to understand it years ago.
