Just upgraded (already had HR34).  GOT SEVERAL MINI GENIES...  Soon as I got the going the Genie slowed down.  Saw a sale on the HR44 for 199.  So am I better to just buy the 44 or push dtv to change out my 34?  If I buy the 44, what does dtv do about my 34??

Just so you know, you're not buying the hr44, Directv still owns your 34 and will also own your 44 if you happend to spend 199 on a new lease fee from solid signal. Quite frankly I think your wasting your money IMO the 44 isn't worth spending Addtional $200 for what?

The sale is a moot point, they sold out. DirecTV doesn't allow more than one Genie, and they won't consider yours broken, so they wouldn't swap it out. If it was not functioning, you might get another 34.

Just try for another replacement just say you're seeing storage error (Blue Screen Of Death) you have to give them the error code 14-xxx, They'll send you a replacement most likely another 34 or 44 if you're lucky, If another 34 then just buy a lease HR44 from Solidsignal and return the HR34.

Who said it was OK?

2 wrongs don't make a right.
You wouldn't Marry a person whom relationship is built on lies, so why would you pay or work for a Provider whom you both have to lie to get what you want?

I wouldn't .
I would move on.

I normally agree about the lying. But when you have a real problem with something you are essentially renting, and on top of that paying a large service bill, and the people you are renting it for won't help you solve the problem by replacing it with the latest generation product even though that would solve the problem, I'm OK with telling them what you need to to get the solution they SHOULD give you without the lie. It's not like the person is trying to steal something - they are willing to pay the fees, they just want the best and latest generation equipment that others are being given.

I am going to imagine that as you have Mini Genies connected to your HR34, that if you unit mysteriously had an issue, they would send you a HR34 as a replacement and not a HR44.

If I were you and my HR34 mysteriously had a failure, I would do a truck roll as they would replace the unit(s) with what they had on the truck (probably not a HR34 at this point) to make it work.

the hr34 is a piece of junk. should have never been released...I am much happier now that I dumped it a year ago and got an hr44. night and day. the hr34 almost had me ready to drop D*

do whatever you have to do to get D to cover an hr44 for you...even if you have to buy it and get a credit. I paid 200 for mine on eBay and got a 50 and a 150 credit to cover it.
