DirecTV 'hopes to provide' SEC Network
 
(USAToday.com) - DirecTV has made a statement regarding the SEC Network, arguing it is fighting for non-sports fans while still hoping to carry the network when it launches next month.
 
"We're in the middle of productive discussions with Disney over ESPN's new SEC Network and hope to be able to provide it as soon as we possibly can," the undated statement reads....
 
 
 
 
No joke - Sen. Al Franken asks regulators to 'carefully scrutinize" AT&T-DirecTV deal
 
(FierceTelecom.com) - U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) has turned his anti-merger fervor towards AT&T's proposed acquisition of DirecTV.
 
In a letter to FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler and Assistant Attorney General William Baer, Franken urged regulators to "carefully scrutinize" the deal with the viewpoint that "the combined entity will have enhanced power in virtually every corner of the telecommunications market."

Thanks to an update that went out yesterday, you'll now be able to view iTunes Extras on your Apple TV. Verizon insists streaming slowdowns are on Netflix
 
(Engadget.com) - Netflix and Verizon have been playing the blame game for months, and despite an April agreement to alleviate the situation customers are still seeing low-res streams and buffering screens (the FCC says it's investigating).
