I BOUGHT AN INDOOR AMPLIFIED TERK HD ANTENNA AND IT WORKS GREAT. I GET A LOT OF SUB-CHANNELS LIKE METV, THIS NETWORK, ANTENNA TV, AND A BUNCH MORE LIKE 10 ADDITIONAL CHANNELS. WHAT'S IRONIC IS THAT I ALSO HAVE THE PREMEIRE PACKAGE AND ALL OF THE SPORTS PACKAGES BUT FIND MYSELF WATCHING THE OLDER SHOWS MORE. I ALSO PURCHASED THE AM21 FOR MY HR24 AND IT WORKS GREAT! I CAN EVEN SHARE MY PLAYLIST WITH THE OTA CHANNELS. AS A SIDE NOTE, IN VERY FEW LOCAL MARKETS, DIRECTV DOES CARRY SOME SUB-CHANNELS AS PART OF THE LOCAL PACKAGE BUT IT'S IN VERY FEW MARKETS.

Doesn't UVerseTV have a separate METV channel? If so maybe DTV will get if the merger is approved? I like ME since it has a lot of classic TV shows, like ADAM-12 and Emergency.

U-Verse carries MeTV on channel 136, in spite of the fact that it's also available OTA as a subchannel.  I noticed this summer visiting family in St. Louis that the sat feed of MeTV was carried on 136 there as well, even though it's available OTA there, too.  U-Verse also carries FETV, which broadcasts quite a bit of Cozi's programming.

“We doubled the size of our broadcast group, re-launched our national cable network, WGN America, with high-quality original programming"

WGN America, AKA "How I Met Your Mother Channel" (Because that's about all they show, all the time.)

Having both Weather Nation and The Weather Channel is more like having both CNN and FOX news.  One could just as easily ask why we need METV when we already have TV Land.

If it where only true.  MeTV is what TV Land was, before it decided to add internal programming.  I'd like to see AntennaTV added as well.

My market has a MeTV subchannel, but they don't offer it on Directv.  I use an antenna for that.
