My old DirecTv Ultimate TV receiver grouped the "Now Playing" list into folders. For instance, the list contained an automatically-generated-and-labled folder called "Law & Order", a second folder called "Larry King - Live", and so on. An older-gen TiVo I once saw had a similar grouping feature. My HR10-250 does not seem to provide this capability. I've figured out the "Sort-by" tweak, but cannot find a grouping tweak. Is there a way to install or tweak-for this feature?

What is the "sort by" Tweak? Thanks!

Go to the "Now Playing" menu and press this remote control key sequence: "slow", "0", "Record", "Thumbs up".

TiVo beeps three times to confirm that the modification has been accepted.

A new line stating "Sort ... (press INFO to change)" appears at the bottom of the "Now Playing" menu.

Pressing the "INFO" button will bring up a menu allowing you to select one of these 3 sorting orders:
• 1 - Newest (by record date)
• 2 - Expiration (by expiration date)
• 3 - Alphabetical (by program name)

Note, however, that it is not necessery to use the INFO menu; pressing the buttons "1" (newest), "2" (Expiration), or "3" (Alphabetical) will change sorting order instantly.

Repeating the key sequence will "undo" this tweak. Use at your own risk.

The folders function that is available on SA Tivo's is part of the 4.0 software. DirecTivo's are still running 3.1 software and folders are not currently available. There have been rumors floating around that 4.0 might be made available to us sometime this fall, but there are no facts to back that up.

Thanks for the information...I guess we wait.

They also serve, who only stand and wait. (John Milton..maybe?)
