We wanted surround sound in our smaller family room, so got a Panasonic HT670 with a 5 dvd player. It says 500 watt system. I used 16 gauge wire instead of whatever it came with. It still seems like you have to crank the volume up to -16db to make it loud. You don't hear anything from -80 to -50 db at all.

So far I think we'll keep it, but does anyone else know any dvd/home theater sets that are really great in sound? I don't see why you have to turn the volume up so high to hear anything. (Before anyone asks none of us having hearing problems either!)
