No, and I don't see if having any affect. The adjustments on the dish are more important by far.
Haven't logged on in almost 2 years. Haven't done installs in a long time. Good luck.

Why would that do anything except completely screw up your LNB?

If the engineers who designed the dish could get a substantially better gain by simply inserting a pipe in the LNB, don't you think they might have already done this? The focal point is as it is for a specific reason.

As noted above, you're much better off re-aiming the Dish if you're finding that your signal strength is unexpectedly low.

Note the name and address of the poster he is dealing with different formats and frequencies than we normally use. The physics are still the same but the equipment varies from commercial to home made.

Ah Ha! I didn't notice the location. Still not sure what a pipe put inside the lnb would do...

thanks Mark Lamutt for your reply

Actually Universal Lnb designed for Offset dishes only , But when comes to parabolic primary focus dishes , Unversal lnb doesn't work perfectly due to wider illumination angle , and in order to universal lnb to work better is to remove the cap of the lnb and inserting a small waveguide pipe down the lnb throat .
