The summer that I graduated from high school, 1967, I landed a job with the Minneapolis brokerage office of Paine Weber, Jackson and Curtis. Mikan was one of the approximately 65 brokers working out of the office. Even though VERY busy with outside activities, he always seemed to have time for those that he worked with in the office. Many years later he would be instumental in helping to bring another professional basketball team to Minnesota, a team which became the Minnesota Timberwolves.
