I'm about to connect my first HDTV and 811 receiver. I'm trying to decide whether I should run my OTA digital channels through the television directly, because it does have a tuner or should I run them instead through the 811? Will the 811 receive the digital subchannels as well? Is there a way to connect both directly to the television and the 811?

Thank you for the advice.

I run mine through both. Sometimes one or the other will pickup certain channels better. Just put a splitter in the antenna line. Make sure you have it amplified to correct for splitter losses.

The 811 will receive the subchannels but you will see program guide for the X.01 channels only. As long as you subscribe to locals.
