Just Got this in my mail.

DirecTV plans today to launch local broadcast channels via satellite in the Providence, R.I., market. The Hughes Electronics [GMH] subsidiary is offering the local broadcast channel package, in combination with any TOTAL CHOICE programming package, $39.99 a month with more than 130 channels.

Providence viewers will receive local channels from a DirecTV satellite at the 119-degree W orbital slot. The service will require use of a multi-satellite capable DirecTV System that includes a single 18-by-24-inch dish and receiver.
