Since last night my signal has faded in and out especially on the 119 bird. It is NOT raining at all right now. ANyone else having this problem? Could it have something to do with problems at the uplink center because of the hurricanes or something?

Since DISH's main uplink is in Wyoming I doubt that Katrina had any effect. You probably have a problem in your own system, 1st guess would be water ingress on a fitting. :)

It could be your receiver flaking out. Try unplugging the receiver and plugging it back in. Then run a switch check. Also, unplug the SAT 1 (and Sat 2 if a dual tuner receiver). If a dual tuner, reverse the feeds. If a single tuner, plug it back in.

Sometimes a weak signal from a storm introduces anomalies which cause these kind of problems (I've seen the problem 2-3 times on my 921). It takes a little doing, but it usually clears itself out. Sometimes though the receiver's tuner fails and the receiver has to be replaced. Call a CSR and have them walk you through the process to try and clear the condition. Hopefully your receiver is leased, or you have the extended warranty so the repairs won't cost you anything.....
