Good Afternoon -

Having just set up a 8-12AM service call for Tuesday, after the wind turned my new 5LNB antenna 90 degrees........

I'm getting increasingly annoyed by the glitches, and other issues we all see in the new MPEG-4 platform. I know it's probably in BETA, and will be improving, but was wondering if anyone had been a prior DISH HD user, and had any good/bad experiences?

Thanks in advance....

Charlie in Boston - I'm down here on Long Island, the winds are indeed strong the past few days. I haven't had a single problem with my AT9. It is mounted on my roof, and I had the installers put on 2 monopole supports. What is your setup? Do you have supports?

As far as the MPEG4 glitches - they really don't have that much impact here in NY because I can still get the big 4 at channels 80, 82, 86 and 88. I think its not too much longer before they have it 100%, they are confident enough to announce the rollout of the next 24 markets within the upcoming 120 days. Probably another software update or two before mid-April when they begin opening new local markets and when we all have to reconfigure our receivers to accept the new bird at 99 (Spaceway2).

I'm a former Dish HD customer but my experience probably won't be of much value to you. I had (have) a 921 and all I got was the Dish HD pak and CBS-HD out of LA. I never bought a 942 and I have no knowledge of mpeg 4. I switched to Direct so I could get the other distant HD locals which Dish can't/won't provide. So far, I am very pleased.

I am also a prior Dish user and the fact that I'm now with Direct should tell you something. The main reason I left Dish was because the 811 receiver was problematic. I don't think they will be offering that in the near future so that's a good thing. Also, at the time they did not have locals in HD via sat. I think now they are moving that way though.
