Yes and for new customers D* is charging $2 extra for the 5th premium if you get TC Premier. Their is a * buy that 5th selection saying that if you select TC Plus with 5 premium services you will automatically be upgraded to TC Premier, which makes that Free DVR service that comes with TC Premier actually $2 and everyone pays it even those without a DVR. Talk about because we can priceing. :(

Does my monthly Tivo fee go from $4.99 to $5.99 or is my $4.99 price grandfathered in as long as I don't make changes?

My online bill states March 1 93.99 TCP charge. I guess I'm grandfathered!

newsposter,

Any idea how long you have to be with D* to be grandfathered into a price? I have been a customer since 2002.

This could be because your billing period started after the 28th and Feb only had 28 days. Next month's bill should be $96.99 if you make no changes. My bill had the same details as yours, but usually I'm billed on the 30th of the month.

I had noticed the same thing. I just checked on my account and on March 1 the following charges were added for service.

45.99 for total choice plus
4.99 DVR fee
4.99 mirror fee

no idea. I'll try to write back April 1 as that will be the true test to see if it's still the old price.

As of my current activity, no statement yet, March 10th DTV billed my Total Choice Premier at $93.99. Maybe there is some grandfather thingy.

We did receive the hard copy of my March bill and it did reflect the old prices...

However, we also had an insert announcing the new prices so it looks like this is my last bill under the old prices.

Here is how the new pricing works:

Base Packages that you had on the last day of your February billing cycle:
Total Choice goes from $41.99 to $44.99
Total Choice Plus goes from $45.99 to $48.99
Total Choice Premier goes from $93.99 to $96.99

Base Packages that you change to 3/1/06 or later:
Total Choice goes to $44.99
Total Choice Plus goes to $49.99
Total Choice Premier goes to $99.99

HD Package
Goes from $10.99 to $9.99 for everyone

Premium Packages
The following pricing applies to HBO, Starz, Showtime, Cinemax, and Sports Pack.
1st Premium (unchanged): $12
2nd Premium (unchanged): $11
3rd Premium (unchanged): $10
4th Premium (unchanged): $8
5th Premium: Here's where it gets weird. This is now based on which base package you have.
==> If you have Total Choice Plus, to add the 5th premium you must upgrade to Total Choice Premier, which is effectively $9 more.
==> If you have anything less than Total Choice Plus, the 5th Premium is $7.

Note also that the pricing takes effect on the start date of your March billing cycle. So if your bill gets mailed out on 3/30, the new pricing takes effect on 3/30 for you.
