Sept. 19 Ariane 5 ECA • DirecTV 9S & Optus D1
Launch window: TBD
Launch site: ELA-3, Kourou, French Guiana

Arianespace will use an Ariane 5 ECA rocket with a cryogenic upper stage to launch the American DirecTV 9S direct-to-home broadcasting spacecraft and the Australian Optus D1 communications satellite. The Japanese LDREX antenna technology demonstration mission will also fly into space aboard the Ariane 5 as a secondary payload. [Aug. 11]

What??? Spaceway was delayed months due to problems with the "other"
payload which had to be returned to the mnfg. for repair...didn't they learn
anything? Now we have to sweat the health of two other sats...amazing!
