The two most worthless channels on DirecTV are Link and Current. Current is a bunch of spoiled rich kids playing TV news station. Link presents irresponsible conspiracy theories and disinformation that does not contribute to the public's understanding of serious issues. There is nothing wrong with responsible viewpoints, whatever they may be. Loopy conspiracy theorist rants are not responsible.

CCTV, which is likewise worthless.

Totally agree. Current is a lame channel and their productions are crap. It reminds me of Blair Witch. In high school, we made better quality productions in the A/V Club on a shoe string budget and 15 year old JVC camcorders then these wacks make with Google behind them.

That said quit a bit of the stuff we were involved in aired on Time Warner’s community access channel, where it was probably seen by more eyes the Current ever will.

One channel that really needs to go...MSNBC. I mean seriously. Who watches that anymore? Hasn't NBC Universal considered pulling the plug before? It seems like they have a few good special reports here and there, but they are hardly my first or 2nd or even 3rd source for news.
Anybody else wonder just how horrible WWE's "wrestling" is gonna get?

If I want to get the news, I will seek news from these sources in this order:

FOX News
CNN
Internet
Local Stations
Small Children
Eavesdropping in a restaurant
Carrier Pigeon
Smoke Signals
Psychic
MSNBC

:rolling: :rolling:  That should be in the running for post of the year!!!

I agree about MSNBC. You'd be surprised, but there are a few souls who listen to the TV feed of MSNBC on XM. It's being dropped in a few days and a few people at XMFan are all up in arms about it. I can’t stand the channel personally.

They should just do what they wanted to do, rename in NBC News Channel, then give it a few years when it’s still in third place out of two axe the channel. CNN knows when to call it quits (CNN FN and CNN SI) why can’t Universal see it.

One station I wish we COULD get is CNN International. I've liked it when it's been on during some of the terrorists attacks in England

I get CNN International, never watch it.

Shopping channels provided added revenue for satellite and cable providers. Besides QVC Rocks! :)

Oh yes! I love bits with Zell Miller. There was one performance so funny that even Darrell Hammond (Chris Matthews) cracked up!

The logical solution is to remove the channels with the lowest number of viewer.
It can't be that hard for DirecTV to figure this out.

As for G4TV.... they still got a lot of viewers, especially since the female hosts
started showing a lot more cleavage... :)

NFL Network, College Sports TV, ESPN News, FreeSpeech TV, ShopAtHomeNetwork, The Water Channel, G4, MTV and MTV2 could ALL be dropped and I'd never even notice....

BUT...if i lose my DVR ability, I'm jumping to DirecTV in a heartbeat!

Ack! I watch ESPN News all the time, so I don't have to watch the unbearable SportsCenter on ESPN. NFL Network now has a purpose since it will show real live games, and CSTV has some decent small college stuff.

But I agree with dropping FreeSpech, SAH (think this one is already gone), MTVs. Let's drop Oxygen, Lifetime Movies, TV Guide channel, and Lime while we're at it. :)

I believe they've considered cutting the cord before (I think thats why they bought out microsoft's share of the station) but then again, GE may pull the plug on NBCU and sell it

I don't know I Never watch it, I have it on digital cable. As far as I know, Time Warner Cable is the only MSO with CNN IN in the US.

Me too. I sent them an email and told them they had lost a loyal viewer (I'm sure they lost sleep over that:grin: ). Haven't watched it sense.

They need to ditch G4 and bring in The Anime Network to replace it. G4 brings no value to Directv at all.

Oh God yes...I could only dream such a dream oh so, so sweet!

I would have agreed about G4 until they started showing Arrested Development. They need to lose i. They show paid programming like 85% of the time.
