I have a neighbor that was interested in getting the HR20, but I told him that the HR20 might not be compatible with Skype for doing it's daily call. He uses his cell phone and Skype, but has no landline. I know that VOiP services like Vonage work, but I'm skeptical about Skype.

If all the call does is just to send PPV info to Directv, could he not just delete the annoying messages notifying him of call failure and just deal with it that way?

Thanks in advance to those who reply.

It should be fine.

DirecTV has tested their head end with most VoIP services...a nd they are fine.

No annoying messages.... If it is failing, he would eventually not be able to purchase PPV.

Earl:

Just a thought, but could he just order PPV online via his account?
