How many people got the 12 (worth $3.99 each) free PPV coupons from Directv this past month? I throw the letter away that came with them but it referenced something about showing appreciation for being part of their HD DVR pilot or early development program (something to that effect)?? I guess this is Directv's way of compensating customers for some of the growing pains??

I got them the other day, they were the "reward" for putting yourself on the HR20 waiting list. My only complaint is that they arrived in March, and the rules allow you to use 2 a month with an expiration date of 6/30. Don't know about DirecTV math, but I'm thinking that is impossible.

We just got ours in the mail yesterday. The letter was dated Feb 26. I know it's called snail mail, but that's a bit much. The letter says that we have 6 months to use them but the coupons say they expire Jun 30th.

Dude, I would have taken them.

I didn't get them because I wasn't on the waiting list. When I called up, I got an install the next week. This was back in mid-October.

I got mine too for being on a waitlist for a HR20. My only problem with the coupons are I would like to use some of them for HD PPV which is a $1.00 more than SD PPV. What do I do stick 2 coupons in the envelope for 1 HD PPV

I got them.

Just send in a coupon for each HD movie you rent. The extra $1 will be reflected in your net bill.

You know, you can switch back to a paper bill if paperless is a problem for you.

So...does anyone know if you can use more than 2 a month to use them by 6/30? Or, should I keep sending them in after 6/30? It's almost comical to get something FREE from Directv and it's still a challenge :)

Yeah, D* really needs to expand the HD PPV lineup.

They do, but they can't for now. When they get those new satellites up, and they have a bunch of spare capacity, it's a safe bet that they'll put up a significant amount of HD PPV.

Although the letter refers to two per month for six months, the coupon while expiring 6/30 also indicates in the "fine print" (yes I read it, how embarrassing) - No more than 12 coupons can be redeemed per month -

We received ours yesterday. I expect to redeem them for HD PPV movies (less $1). I'd call D* and complain about the short fuse (redeem 2 per month before 6/30? -- RIGHT!) and the mixed message (no more than 12 redemptions per month? -- at 2 per month?), but it's not worth waiting on the phone.

How is it that D* can work so hard to find ways to pi** us off?!
