Another thread says that the 100 will only download 12a date 2/28/2007. This does not look like a 700. The 12a on a 700 was a long time ago.

Are you sure there are two ethernet ports or is one the phone line?

Can you provide a picture of the back?

Edit
If in fact this has two ethernet ports, then the BCM7038 has undergone a major upgrade and is probably no longer called BCM7038.

So what's the temp if there is a built in fan?

And what did you mean you wanted to "swap your silver"?

Two ethernet, eh? You only need one to hook up to the network for media connection to your home PC. The second might be a pass through so you can add a home theater PC to your equipment rack and have internet access passed through from the HR20.

Or maybe it's for... Come on, DirecTV. Be more creative.

My thought: it's for VOD and MRV. One port is for downloading video-on-demand, and the other is to connect a second HR20 for multi-room-viewing. Wouldn't that be cool? :)

OK, how would you set up your IP/ports to do that?
Are we going to have to subnet the house now?
