This may have already been posted, but couldn't find it.

Has anyone experimented a little with storage space of recording the same program OTA HD vs. D* HD (MPEG-4)? Would each consume the same amount of HDD space or does one take less space than the other?

The OTA takes a little more because it is MPEG2.

For some #'s:
For standard HR20:
~50hrs MPEG4
~30hrs MPEG2
~200hrs SD

You may notice that OTA MPEG2 takes up a little more space than the D* MPEG2 national HD feeds, due to the slightly higher bit rate of some OTA channels.
