A number of the local newscasts, such as KABC-DT will say they are from 4:00PM-5:00PM, but actually start at 3:58pm so you miss the first 2 minutes - and thus the major news story.

I am used to the SA8300HD which can be adjusted manually to start earlier, but cannot find that option on the HR20 (I assume it must be hidden somewhere).

This is probably common knowledge for most, but I have hit about every button and menu I can find and do not see any way to accomplish this

You can adjust the start/stop time from 1 of several screens:

- if you have a saved recording:
1. Press List button
2. Highlight recording, press Select
3. Highlight Rec. Series, press Select
4. Press Left arrow, highlight Start, press Select
5. Select desired negative padding (1-5 minutes early, 10 minutes early, or "on time")
6. Press Right arrow, highlight "Update All" and press Select.

- If you have scheduled recordings, but none saved:
1. Press List
2. Press Yellow button to access To Do list
3. Scroll through To Do list for next recording, highlight it and press Select
4. Start from Step #3 above.

- If you have no scheduled recordings
1. Set up the recording using the method of your choice.
2. Follow steps for "scheduled but not saved" above.
