I'm awaiting "professional installation" (snicker) of a 622 next Wednesday after switching from D* to E*. I currently have two cables from the roof to the location where the 622 will reside. I've searched the forum and I'm still not certain I have the answers to the cable configuration questions I am about to pose... so here goes.

1. one of the two cables running from the dish to the 622 can be used to carry information to both of the satellite tuner inputs using a splitter after the cable exits the wall, correct?

2. can the second of the two cables running from the roof to the 622 be used to carry both incoming OTA channel signals from my antenna and also carry outgoing SD signals to TV2 by combining them between the wall and the receiver and then splitting them back out somewhere in the run from the roof to receiver? If so, what sort of splitters/joiners are needed to accomplish this? I currently have a radio shack diplexer combining my D* satellite signals and OTA signals on the roof and another diplexer splitting them back out at the receiver. Would these diplexers work?

Any help is appreciated.

Sure this will work.

Two things. It's not a splitter that is used to allow the two Sat tuners to independently utilize the antenna and LNBs. It's a seporator. Secondly, why would you insert the word "snicker" with regard to your professional installation? Most indeed are in fact professional, howerver not all customers are, indeed, professional.

You don't have to combine the OTA thru the TV 2 line. OTA, & sat dishes can all be on the 1 input cable that you are presently using from your D* system. the 2nd line can go straight to a SD TV in another room.

Couldn't have said it better myself. My professional installation was every bit of that. New dish, cables and switches. All professionally installed with the proper mountings and cable ties. I was very impressed, and pleased.

So to clarify, the OTA signal and the satellite signal may be combined on the roof or in the attic and sent to the 622 through one cable and then separated out into three different cables, one to attach to the OTA input and the other two to attach to the two satellite inputs on the back of the 622, correct?
