What should I set my HR20-100 to output? 720p only? 1080i only? I have native off, cause I like the faster channel changing.

Thanks

What brand/model TV do you have?

Not sure what you mean by "1024 x 1024 Native Resolution". That's not a normal high definition video resolution.

Best bet is to just try them both and see which looks better to you. Odds are you won't be able to tell the difference.

I have the Sony Plasma KDE-42XS955. I can't tell any different at all, but if one is technically better to use I'd rather do that.

Here's a link for my TV's specs.

Judging from this page, I'd assume the 720p with the HR20 doing the "work" would be the best setup.

You have an "odd" resolution, which means both 720p & 1080i will be scaled to fit your display. Pick which ever you like, as you're the one that will be watching it.

Looks like its "native format" is 720p, so just set your HR20 to that. Enjoy!

My old Sony plasma 42 monitor has the same resolution. I can not really tell the difference between 720 and 1080 on it. They both look bad compared to my Panasonic 50 plasma. I know it takes a while with native on for the Sony to get the image right, on top of the HR20's delay.
