Is it still in your guide after the preview? It is not showing up in my guide now just before noon. I didn't check this morning to see if it was on.

It was off late yesterday afternoon and as i checked all through the night, it was still off, so i guess its only playing in the early am....

It was active on my HR20's this morning. If you've set a Custom Favorite Channels list, you need to edit the list to show the channel in your guide, but you can still tune directly to it.

...and it is off again. Unique mix of videos, seems to be a fairly decent channel.
DTV & NFLST since 97 at least, not looked back yet...

The Tube is broadcast as a subchannel on OTA digital TV stations. If it's on the cable system, that means one of the channels in the area is broadcasting it. If you're in the same area as your brother, you can pick it up with an OTA tuner.

It is compressed beyond belief. Broadcasting a concert with lots of flashing lights and quick color changes, the PQ is pure garbage. It's right at the edge of watchable, IMO.

Took a peek at it last night, couldn't agree more... macroblocking on camera angle changes was horrible... Watched a couple of minutes then moved on.

I was able to record the last 90 minutes (this morning from 10:15-11:00 EST) no problem. I do recall though that recording the NGC previews most of the time resulted in Black Screen reordings for me.

MHD is not an HD version of MTV

Much more an HD version of VH1, IMHO.

Based on the small ad during the preview earlier this morning it is a combination of the following channels:

- MTV
- VH1
- CMT

I think it is similar to Discovery HD Theater.

Based on your location, the Tube is on KPLR-11 in St Louis, MO. If you are ~40 miles away from the towers, you will need some kind of outdoor antenna. Go to antennaweb.org to check out your location and what kind of antenna is needed. The Tube is awesome and I hope you can pull it in. Just introduced a friend to it last night and you would of thought I gave him concert tickets or something.

Enjoy pf

I have to disagree. MHD doesn't show the Top 100, 100 most shockingly unshocking child star moments, or I love the '70s Strikes Again Part 2 or the Top 25 most adorable senior citizen actors of all time. :)

I have the channel on Cox and most of the time its artist like Sheryl Crow doing Storytellers I find, but I have noticed that in the past month they've been doing a lot of rap during the daytime, but I guess it all depends on what time of day you are watching.

That's a good way to describe it.

Any way D* could put in a more descriptive description so we can decide if we want to record something? Right now it just says a generic "In anticipation of this channels upcoming launch..." or something to that affect. Can they make the MHD sneak peak descriptions like the NGC sneak peaks so it actually says what will be shown during each sneak peak?

recorded both showings and just a black screen.

I tried to record yesterday and today, nothing but black screen also.

Has there been a reason given for some of us not getting this channel?

The guide info is there.

If you go to www.mhd.tv they have the schedule there. So at least you can see if there's anything during the 4 hour overnight block or 5 hour morning block you want to record.
