USA TODAY reported the following that was said by TNT.

All 43 cars in NASCAR races are miked, TNT spokesman Jeff Pomeroy says, and the audio that pops up on-air can't always be identified: "We can assume that audio came from one of the three cars in the accident. But we can't be sure it was Kyle."

I said the exact same thing in my living room as that idiot drove right into the side of Kyle. He was in California, maybe he thought it was an earthquake? No he shouldnt have said it, yes someone will probably get fined, but please dont start on some holier that thou garbage....

Since Kyle apologized for the hit and said it was all his fault, I don't think "that idiot" should be blamed for it. IIRC Kyle is one of the last guys that will call out someone else for a wreck, but if he thought it was Matt's fault then he wouldn't have taken the blame.

Always tough to follow a legend. He lost his son in a crash in 2000 as well, very tragic.

Overall a good human being that has done some great things for a lot of people via charity and what not.

He has 8 Cup wins and 173 top ten's. But his last win was over a decade ago.

I remember the death of his son well :( The grandson that died was said to be talented even at his young age. I think he was the one they felt would be more like his grandfather Richard. It is kind of like another racing family outside of NASCAR. Mario A. son never had the talent his dad had, but now Marco the grandson is already showing great promise at an early age.

Someone should be fined. He's supposed to be a role model. Sadly, a lot of what's on TV and radio is anything goes. Guys who are "shock jocks" because they don't have the intelligance to say anything funny. I don't like hearing a lot of the garbage on the air and I certainly don't want my kids to hear it.

It's not a case of the language not being "acceptable", but people's standards have really slid.

You are right there people's standards have really slid :( That word is now commonly used by many, many people :(
And I would be willing to bet that your kids, unless they are very, very young, have already heard people use that word. I don't like the word myself at all :nono2: But it is used all the time now :( :(

Dolly, it's interesting here in Kansas City. I as sportswriter/broadcaster back east. I still keep in touch with some of the guys I know in the media. Here in KC, it's anything goes. I hear them use the term "suck" (do they really know what that means?), "blow" and a bunch of other terms here. I hard one reporter here say that she hoped "Jake Plummer gets knocked on his (bottom)". And then she repeated herself.
If you go to Yankee Stadium and wear a shirt that says anybody "sucks", including the Red Sox, you're gone. The guys I worked with will cut you off on the air if you cross that line. I spoke to a few of them two years ago when they were here and they were shocked by what these guys say on the air. Unfortunately, here they don't really care. Some people consider themselves "edgy". But a lot of the top broadcasters in the sports realm are actually saddened by what these new clowns bring to the airwaves.

I have a two-year-old and a three-year-old. Do I ever want to hear them say these things? No and they'll hear about it if they do.

How interesting I would have thought the words would have been in use more in NY than KC :eek2: So much for the "Heartland of America". Where I live it is not used on TV, but people here use those words all the time :(

IMHO, Kyle apologized for the expletive, not the accident, it was CLEARLY Kenseth's fault. You dont go barrelling into the inside line like that in a 3400 lb stock car...worst yet wasnt it on the 1st or 2nd lap. Way too early to be trying a boneheaded move like that...

How many race car drivers do you think there are that don't use that word? Especially after being involved in a crash?

I don't know the history of the radios in the cars but I imagine they have been communicating with the pits this way for quite some time. How long have they been miked? Maybe keeping it clean is the last thing on their mind especially in that situation. Maybe it's habit. People will say things that just "slip" or that they regret when something like that happens. Especially if that is how they talk away from the spotlight. I know people who do not curse and have a clean mouth yet have said a few words when mad.

They have had scanners at the tracks for years and now with having the in car radio online, Nascar has enforced rules for the drivers/crews not to curse. Usually you don't hear about any fines unless they are big.

As far as Petty, I didn't hear it and I was wondering why the announcers said that, I was half paying attention. I didn't rewind, I thought they had caught it on TV, but not in their headset.

It's not "holier than thou" garbage. Do you want your kids being exposed to a lot of the crud that's on the air now? I've seen guys who were into all of the off-color stuff, the language, the sex, etc. It's ruined them.

‘Save the the the Chchchchcchillllllldern’

Played Mortal Kombat when I was 6, saw my fist horror flick at 4 (Childs Play), owned more R Rated movies by the age of 10 then most have ever seen by the age of 20, Howard Stern Fan, Opie & Anthony Fan, Grand Theft Auto fan. I say the F, S and C word more times in an hour then you can count. Honor student, National Honor Society, Nation Technical Honor Society, never been in trouble with the law, hell never received single detention in school Yep I’m ruined

When i watch TV, Listen to the radio, play video games, give me hardcore violence, profanity that will make a sailor blush and more sex then the lastest Pam Anderson tape. It's shock value baby and I love it!!!

Another of today's sad trends is the tendency for many people to openly boast of doing things that once would have led to shame and embarassment.

Equipment includes a buncha stuff that I no longer have interest in detailing

Remember the name (I'm sure we'll see it on CNN or Dr. Phil someday) and pity any woman who is foolish enough to even consider a relationship with him.

Take this comment and the one on how you hate people your own age, but I'll bet it's probably more the other way around. I don't know anybody who enjoys being around people with garbage mouths and is perverted.

I'd love to record it, but there's a special on paint drying that I want to see that night. Interesting ... cursing, profanity, porn, ... from somebody who blasted Anna Nicole Smith as being a loser? Not in this comparison.

Are you kidding to add humor to this thread :eek2: I hope so. Because I wouldn't be bragging about "hardcore violence, profanity that will make a sailor blush and more sex then the lastest Pam Anderson tape" :raspberry :barf:

Want to learn how the F words was started since the caveman time?

Just go to www.en.wikipedia.org and just type the word F*** on the search engine, and you will get the whole story!:D

English words are ment to be free from dumb censorship that is controled by FCC "Federal Censorship Commision":barf: IMHO the FCC needs to be overhauled sooner the better, we just don't need have to be a nanny state control!!
