Other than general looks and manufacturers, are there any differences between the HR20-100 and the HR20-700?

The HR20-100 has two network connection ports. Only the first port is enabled at this time. Other than that, not much difference. There are some internal minor design changes as well.

I've been told the HR20-100 runs cooler and quieter than the HR20-700. The hard drive is marginally bigger but the capacity available for your use is the same.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

The HR20-700 has air vents on the top making it hard to stack, the HR20-100 has air vents on the side making it easier to stack.

The HR20-100 also has an external RF remote antenna while the HR20-700 is internal.

The blue light ring on the HR20-700 seems to made of individual leds while the HR20-100 has the appearance of being a continuous circle.

The arrangement of the connections on the back are different also.

Interesting. When I talked to DTV installations the rep told me there were no physical differences.

I wouldn't call any of the differences significant. If the store had a -700 on display and you bought a -100, you wouldn't realize the difference when you unpacked it.
