For the majority of VOD you will need to have you HR20 network to a broadband internet connection. The majority of the programs will need to be downloaded and some of the highly watch programs DIRECTV will push with the SAT's.

The good news is that hopefully we'll have a chance to test this pretty soon!
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

:welcome_s to DBSTalk

There is no set date for us to start testing it or when it will go national. But it looks like in the next couple of weeks we may have the chance to start testing. As of right now that is just a guess from some of the members here at DBStalk.

The latest from DIRECTV CEO Chase Carey is,

"Another important initiative we'll launch is our now VOD service which is named DirecTV On Demand. We're currently in the beta test phase and we'll launch this service nationwide in the summer. " - May 9, 2007 Conference Call

In February he had said July.
