Quality control in the refurbishment shops

Does DTV have quality control issues in the refurbishment shops? The first two replacement HR-20s they sent me last week had obvious deficiencies (popping/crackling audio on one, no audio on the HDMI output on the other - along with noticable system vibration I guess from the disk drive)

What kind of "testing" do they go through before they are sent out? Or does DTV just like keeping FEDEX rich?

I have only gotten one referb, it is my old TiVo unit. What ever was wrong with it was fixed

There are probably some issues which are harder to see on the test bench, and I'll tell you after 20 years of diagnosing PC problems, there are always things that work when the tech is there and not when he's not.
