This is according to the wikipedia site ????? Hope its true[/B]

Never believe anything you read on Wikipedia, especially when it's information about DirecTV and it conflicts with what you read here.

So how many times have I said it's just the same guide data for both HD and SD channels and that DirecTV doesn't carry the HD channel yet? ;)

...and by the way, Wheel and Jeopardy are pretty impressive in HD. I hadn't watched these shows in years and I started again, to see what they did. They've revamped everything to take advantage of the higher resolution.

Basically they don't use the wide parts of the screen for much- the same feed is used for SD with the outer edges cropped. Still, the picture quality is quite good, especially when seen over-the-air, and the sets look excellent.

Lotta wide shots on Vanna, though. It's not 1986 (when I saw Ms. White on a Boston book signing tour) and no one looks the same now as we did then.

For what its worth, I rode an elevator with Vanna White at the Las Vegas Hilton last year when they were shooting WOF there. She still looks great and you could bounce a quarter off her behind. (A little OT but had to be said.)
