Series 1 of Torchwood, the Doctor Who spinoff with Captain Jack Harkness premiers September 8th on BBC America.

If you didn't catch it one way or the other when it aired in the UK last spring, it's well worth catching it now!

And for us HD folks... 9 days later (September 17th) Torchwood debuts in HD on HDNet!

I was going to mention it when it became available for TiVo programming.
"In many ways, this opera does fulfil my often quoted description of what most operas is about. The tenor is trying to sleep with the soprano, and the baritone is trying to stop them." - Sean Bianco, KXPR At The Opera

I may watch on BBC America since it comes on first... then if I like it, will probably start watching only on HDNet for the HD.. but I may not be able to wait those extra 9 days to see the first episode.

Will it be real HD or just widescreen SD like "Dr. Who" and "Hell's Kitchen"?

Torchwood was actually shot in HD... so on BBC America I suspect it will be letterboxed, but on HDNet it will be in actual HD. Should look nice.

Great news on HDNet! That's enough for me to watch it through again!
