Is this some kind of joke Echostar?
Has anybody seen any programming on these channels that even resembles HD?

I have on the Science channel.

TLC and Animal Planet have been hit/miss.

It's not Echostar's fault. Blame Discovery. Blame Echostar for the 1440x1080 instead of 1920x1080.

Some HD, but a lot of zoomed SD too. That's kind of par for the course when channels rush into HD broadcast before they have enough HD content to fill the slate.

Don't blame Dish. Blame Discovery.

Everyone was going insane when DirecTV announced all their "agreements" for new HD... and people thought it was sour grapes when Dish said many of these would not be "compelling" at the start... but Dish is trying to carry them as they launch anyway so people don't think they are falling behind... and now people complain about that too.

Personally, I wish some of these channels would wait to launch until they have enough HD content to fill their schedule... but we don't really get to say about that.

I'm sure that there will be more and more HD content in the coming months, but these channels have always carried a mix of older and newer programming.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect
those of DBSTalk.com, DIRECTV, DISH, The Signal Group, or any other company.

Mythbusters looked really great HD! When Jamie sneezed into his mustache, I saw way more detail than I think I wanted to see. Can't wait to watch Dirty Jobs! Had to search for Meerkat Manor that was being shown in HD but I finally found it. Looked like some episodes of Meerkat being broadcast in SD, some in HD.
