Next to true HD, I would personally prefer an upconverted SD with pillar bars to a stretched image any day. I think the choice to stretch or zoom should be in the hands of the viewer, not the broadcaster.

I don't watch A&E HD. The picture is distorted.

By broadcasting it in Dolby 2.0 instead of 5.0. Thanks a lot A&E!
