I'm wondering the same thing. Also MHD is not a simulcast too. This HD extra pack is such BS to begin with. We now have Food-HD, HGTV-HD, MHD and Discovery HD Theater that are not simulcasts but are not included in the HD Extra pack. Maybe a new "HD Extra, Extra Package" is coming.

HGTV-HD and FOOD-HD are not in the HD Extra Pack (Why, I don't know), but Discovery HD Theater and MHD are both in the HD Extra Package.

I would guess it's because eventually the HD version will be a simulcast of the SD version - or perhaps the two others you mentioned - HD Theater and and MHD have no SD counterpart, simulcast or otherwise.

Everything we've read so far has listed Discovery HD Theater as being in that package. Either there has been a change, or the website is incorrect...

Does anyone know of a place to find the listing for this channel online? Zap2it and directv.com don't have it yet. I found this on the hgtv.com site but it has a blurb about when the channel launches April 10, 2006 so I am not confident this is correct.

Ok. Don't know if anyone else has seen this or not but since it's not mentioned here, I thought I would bring it up. I've had this channel on all morning and just went out to have a look after work (worked from home today). The picture looked awsome (like a 1080i signal) but the H20-100 indicated (via the blue light on the front) that it was a 480p signal. I hit info on the TV and it also indicated a 480p signal. The show was listed as HD and it certainly did not look like 480p output so I hit previous channel twice (changed it to FXHD and back) and now it still looks the same but says it is 1080i.

Has anyone else seen this?

Have been wondering about that as well. The schedules on HGTV.com are indeed useless as are the ones on the Food Network site as well. :(

TitanTV.com is usually pretty good, but they don't have the latest HD channels for D* on there yet, or maybe I just can't find them.

If anyone knows of a reliable source, sure would appreciate letting us in on where we can find it.

THANKS!

Comparing the guide you linked above to the one on screen (229-1), everything is correct.

THANKS! Had looked for the HD schedules before, but they had them hidden very well. (A search for HDTV on the food site returns a recipe for HDTV salisbury steak! )

when I ordered hd they brought me a h20-100 receiver and slimline 5 lnb dish I then ordered a rf remote, and at that time if your receiver got hungup on one channel my tech man told me to put in code 00002 and it would fix it,which it did, then d*downloaded in my receiver 0x2021, then when it hungup I called d*they said after they had done the download the 00002 code would not work any more, "you can take that for whats its worth" but it never worked for me again:

Wow - HGTV HD - looks flawless...caught Hidden Potential last night at 8:30 and it just popped off the screen.

Kudos to HGTV for doing it the right way ... NO STRETCH.

Watched the Wandering Golfer at St. Andrews yesterday afternoon and it looked really good. It's a good show that I'll probably spend more time watching now that I can catch it HD.

You know, I don't normally watch this type of stuff, but that kitchen (3rd house I think) that featured the green marble Island was incredible. I even correctly guessed the 50,000 price.

The PQ on this is unmatched (even by the recent ballgames) & I will be watching/recording lots more of this in the future!

The building of a log house in Colorado was one of the best pictures I have seen since Discovery HD Theatre first came on. Crystal Clear, vivid colors, everything was spot on. Even the wife commented on the quality of the picture and she doesn't normally care about those kinds of things.

Makes you wonder how a "little guy" like HGTV can get HD right...while the vast majority of heavy hitters (ESPN, TNT, TBS, Bravo, etc....don't appear to have a clue yet...its either stretched, upconverts or HD done poorly). How many times can these channels stretch a movie that is undoubtedly available in widescreen SD at the worst?

My wife and I watched about an hour and half last night and it looked great. I am a little surprised that they only have a 3 hour block of programming repeated over the day. On the plus side it will make her life easier in finding times to record the shows she watches.

Mrs. Shadow's quick review of HGTV-HD:

What she saw looked nice, but it seems the selection is limited. The quality is fine but it's just a matter of mre quantity.
