Remember, this is a new channel to DirecTV, too...not just us. They might need to iron out the kinks at their end. Or perhaps D* can fix it...who knows.

Love the picture, though!!

Impressive.
Wish list of channels for D*: C-Span 3; BBC World News; Sky News International; CBC Newsworld; France24; EuroNews; Eurosportnews; Setanta Sports News; ABC News 24 (Australia); Australia Network (soon to be ABC Asia Pacific); Al Jazeera English; Russia Today; NHK World; DW-TV -- Heck, how about an entire English-language international tier so I don't have to keep switching to my Roku?

Yes, the audio is about 1/2 second ahead of the video. Let's hope someone tracks it down and tightens it up!! The video quality is indeed sweet! :) Man, I just saw a scene in the The Lost Gods where they simulated an earthquake, basically shook a camera wildly.... NO breakup or pixelation!!! WOW :eek2:

#1 channels in my house are all educational or informational like the discover channels etc. My 5yr old daughter loves shows like Dirty jobs and How its Made because she eats knowledge for lunch! So yes this channel will likely make it into our perm lineup, the only downside is no SD for her and she only has a 19" SD tv and receiver in her room.

I would have said that we don't need another Discovery HD Theatre, but the PQ is much better and the programming will be a breath of fresh air from American Chopper and all the other crap that has ruined the regular Discovery Network family of Channels (which we can all see in HD on their regular HD Channels now anyway).

I'm 27 and I still love learning stuff from the Discovery Channel and its affiliates. The really have some amazing programming, not only interesting but also very informative and educational as well. :D I wish I had these channels when I was your daughter's age! :)

I agree that this picture is one of the best that I have seen so far. Unfortunately I had to go to work before I could stare at all the channels for an "appropriate" amount of time. I guess I will have to take over the TV from the wife tonight to investigate them all further!
Go HDTV!!!
