So, just to get this straight... The old channel numbers are still simulcast in MPEG2 and the new numbers MPEG4? So, ESPNHD 73=MPEG2, ESPNHD 206=MPEG4; HBOHD 501 now MPEG4?

Can anyone confirm this is indeed how it is?

Edit: nevermind I see they are still Mpeg2 http://www.dbstalk.c...ad.php?t=101068

It is there on my channel list, NESNH, 623. It was listed before the rollout.

Yes, but you are in Mass. It is not yet available via D10, which is what was being asked about.

I know it is not D's fault about the auto stretching.. but I am dissapointed in the amount of channels that are being stretched... but I suppose that will change as more content gets filmed in HD.. could be years though...

I totally agree. The only downside for me, if you can even call it that, is now I have to redo all my Season Passes to record the HD feed. All in all though, I will happily do that as the picture looks great! :)

Is that what I have to do? Was wondering if I just go into scheduler and delete everything and add them back in the new channels? Is that the correct way to do it?

Reason I was wondering was that we have a ton in there, as my wife is an RN and works different days each week and different hours as needed and LOVES to see HER shows.

Also, is there a maximum number of season passes that you can have? Haven't been able to find that number anywhere, if there is one, but we have close to 50, at least.

Thanks,
-Mike

TBSHD (expected this one) and A&EHD are also Stretch-O-Vision.

I thought that Earl or someone mentioned that when the HD channels went live, the default version of the channel was the HD one, and SD was -1? I'm seeing both HD and SD versions in my guide. Or did I misunderstand something?

As long as I keep Sunday Ticket/Superfan, my wife will be happy with D*!

Is it just me, or does changing to any of the new HD channels take longer than normal?

Anyone else who is a subscriber to Starz not have any of the new HD channels? I get the "(721) , channel not purchased" message on channels 519,522,540,520 and 518, although the standard-def counterparts work fine. Is this something that is just an error or does Starz in HD require another subscription? As this comprizes a whopping 5 new HD channels, I want to get them!

All the other channels look fantastic...lots of watching to do.

All channels I watch are now in HD except Sci-Fi. Maybe next month?

So do we need to change our series links to catch the HD versions now?

I am thrilled with all the new HD channels. Thanks to everyone at DBSTalk & D* for all the hard work that brought us all this glorious HD.

Of course we all want more HD and we want it yesterday. But let's just all be grateful for these new HD channels today. Remember just yesterday we were thrilled with only 2 test HD channels.

I LOVE THE NEW HD

I am disappointed that the first round of channels contained so many $ premiums. We already had similar ones with HBOHD ad SHOHD. Would have been nice to test the system on more package channels.IMHO

The premiums will be 90% of what I watch from this list.

I, for one, would rather have stretch-o-vision than black sidebars. Just a personal preference, I guess, and less chance for burn-in on my plasma TV. Of course I would prefer all 16:9 HD content.

I just wish they would show programs in HD that were originally made in HD. You hear me A&E?? WTF is up with 24 in stretch-o-vision???!?!?!

Please - NO stretch-o-vision. If you want to stretch the picture make your TV do it (it has options to do so) - or buy technology you don't have to worry about burn in's with. Very big fact that there will be a lot of SD converted programming for several years to come. Deliver the picture to me as it was shot and I'll decide what I want my equipment to do with it.
HR21-100 and HR22-100, Sony SXRD KDS60A2000, Samsung LN40A650, Logitec 880 and almost retired Pronto TSU1000 remote - used still for the CD changer.

We are among the local folks that get NESN HD because we are in the local market. It is just being spotbeamed, noone outside of eastern MA would be getting it.
