My daughter and I were watching the movie "Doogal" on Starz HD and it looked great! Animated movies always look good in HD! She didn't want to go to school this morning and I almost called in sick myself! LOL---but here I am, I have to make $$ to keep my satellite on! LOL

Yes, but you are in Mass. It is not yet available via D10, which is what was being asked about.

So is "ddpoohndave". That is why I responded to him that I think it should be available to him too.

They look fantastic here. Now bring on the HD locals out here in fly-over land, DMA 89! :)

They have to save something for October. Personally, I can't wait for Food Network. Once my wife sees Paula, Emeril, Bobby, and Duff in high def, she'll let me scrap her 4x3 tube TV and upgrade to another HDTV.

Is it just me, or does changing to any of the new HD channels take longer than normal?

I thought the same thing. There is quite a long pause. But then I think surfing any of the channels is slow. The new ones just seem slower. Oh well at least there is more to see.

Does anyone have an idea when Titan TV Guide will be changing its guide to include the new HD channels?

Not a big deal, but I could have sworn that "Comedy Central" was on the list of new HD channels to come. Now I don't see it. Was I dreaming?

I've got all the new channels and when the content is good, they look GREAT!

TBSHD (expected this one) and A&EHD are also Stretch-O-Vision.

+1 Thought A&E would have higher standards than TBS/TNT. Get a quality upscaler, have the graphic dept. come up with some nice pillar designs, don't insult our intelligence!! We know everything isn't in HD or 16:9 yet!! It's not your fault! Repeat this cry: "No wide people... no wide people... no wide people..."

I've only checked a handful of the new HD Channels and I've found that:

CNN, Big10, NFL Network all come in fine. I saw no pixelation at all during the time I watched them.

TBS, Vs., and Weather Channel I get Searching for Signal.

My signal strength for 103b is strange. I get 0s on the first few transponders and anywhere from 60-80 on the rest. It is raining here though.

I probably need a realign but I thought it was weird that the first three came in flawless and the next three were searching for signal.

Looks like all is OK at the Sweet house, although Mrs. Shadow was saddened that HGTV in HD is not there yet. She'll be content with TLC for a while though.
Opinions expressed by me are my own and do not necessarily reflect

Surprised no National Geographic and MHD in the first wave since we've seen previews over the past few months.

Also Food and HGTV absent, both are -1 channels. Any thoughts. Still working out the kinks maybe?

Ditto, I thought National Geographic would be the first channel released after 50+ sneak peeks.

I am disappointed that the first round of channels contained so many $ premiums. We already had similar ones with HBOHD ad SHOHD. Would have been nice to test the system on more package channels.IMHO

I agree except they STILL have not lit up DMA 42...the largest DMA STILL without HD Locals!!!!!

I pay good money for those premium channels. I would be mad if they didn't do this.

I assume they will be in October. I just received the latest issue of DirecTVs Access magazine. It's called The HD Issue and it has the new program listing and Food Network HD and HGTV HD are listed as are many others.

How will TBSHD work for those that live in Atlanta? TBS is a local channel for us -Channel 17, so we get it on 17 and not 247. I assume our 17 will be in HD now?

I just wish they would show programs in HD that were originally made in HD. You hear me A&E?? WTF is up with 24 in stretch-o-vision???!?!?!

Yeah, I can understand "Saved by the Bell" over on TBS, though I don't agree with it, but what's up with 24????
"Did you order the new dubs of 24 in 16:9? All we have are these 4:3 versions."
"Eh, I'll do it later... not like anyone can actually watch us yet... DirecTV keeps putting off their launch"
"Yeah, you're right... Hey, just hit that stretch-o-vision button, let's see how crappy THAT looks..."
"Oh man, that's bad... Keifer's head looks like a pumpkin!"
"Whoa, better order those new tapes soon!"
"Right on it boss... after lunch!"
