Glad to see Versus is utilizing their HD channel to show an infomercial instead of the Aggy Baylor game in HD.

I agree..it is a waste of a channel from my perspective.

NO, not what I meant.

I mean this is not an HD simulcast of and SD channel, so why is DirecTV making it the default for channel 604 instead of giving it a unique channel number ?

Because VERSUS SD AND GOLF SD are NOT GOLF/VERSUS HD

Channel 604 is the unique channel number for it. Vs. is on 603, Golf is on 605.

What a joke! If you are going to share a channel like that, the least they could do is show something that's worthy of HD bandwidth!

Man the Wings/Ducks game looks amazing. I am loving this MPEG4.

And a big thanks to D* for getting this channel on because if it wasn't I'd be watching the game in SD because of crappy baseball being on 94/95 instead. ;)

Go Wings!!

I'm getting sporadic pixelization in Kalamazoo - What are your 103(B) strengths? Maybe my dish needs some fine tuning.

High 80's mostly, some high 70's. Haven't had any pixelization at all.

DUCKS vs RWINGS not bad, HD isn't as good as TBS/HD, but I'll take it!
Now the AVS & STARZ are on, NHL in HD is the only way!!

Was watching a bit of this yesterday, and the logo showed that this was "HD". It is definitely wide screen, and looks a little better than SD, but someone please tell me this is NOT real HD!

Does anyone know what kind of cameras they use, and if this is really HD? The quality of this is nowhere near what CBS produces in their golf coverage. :nono:

604 is a unique channel number. Full time SD VS is 603, full time SD Golf is 605.

Barring events running long, rain, and such, there will never be a time when live events will be on both VS and Golf at the same time.

Just thought I would share that the Standford v. USC game looked excellent on Versus HD. It rivaled any other HD football game I have seen. Definitely not a Pac 10 fan, but was got caught up in this close game and what turned out to be a monumental upset. It sure made it even sweeter to watch it in fabulous HD quality!

You may want to check your set up. I have yet to see a college football game look as good including OTA. Everyone I was watching the game with was equally impressed. In fact, one of my friends who has been holding of on moving away from his HR10, was calling D* today to get a HR20 because of the PQ that he saw was possible.

I was also watching the LSU-Florida game on CBS (OTA) and OSU-Purdue game on ABC (OTA). Neither was close to the PQ of the Standford-USC game on VS...... and I am a Big Ten fan.

I have to agree with Raider Dan. That was the best looking picture I have seen for a football game in HD. I could not believe how good the picture looked. I kept switching back to the LSU - FLA game for comparison and it wasn't even close.

I even enjoyed the USC coeds fake-crying at the end of the game. :)

Nothing wrong with my setup. I've seen a lot better. Looked fine when the picture was without a lot of motion, not so good when there was motion. I only watched about 10 mins of the game though.

Like the other posters I couldn't disagree more. The USC-Stanford game had as solid an HD picture as I've seen for ANY football game in high definition. Bravo!

Possibly, if the entire event doesn't collapse under the weight of scandal.

I saw those too but thought those were camera flashes?

BTW, when do you think these 2 channels will have their own separate HD feeds?
