Now if the West Wing was put back on, that would be nice.

sure HD looks better than SD and I'm glad we have it, but why rush to add HD channels with NO HD programming? Does HGTV and Food have HD programs?I'd rather have MGM or MHD. AT least they added Cinemax

HGTV-HD and Food-HD are nearly 100% (I believe) HD channels. They are not just simulcasts of the regular channels. The downside to that is apparently there are a decent number of repeats, but I'd rather have that than just identical programming to what's on the SD channel. What's the point?

An HD chick show is better than an SD man show, as far as I am concerned! I watch the weather channel in HD just beacause it is in HD, and I have never watched it before on D*!

I....I'm betting Project Runway is in HD too, which would be cool. And, yes, it sort of IS a chick show, but my chick got me into it and now I'm addicted.

seems as if Directv may be adding some channels that are not even broadcasting a HD channel. BRAVO HD seems to not have any HD.
TBS HD has only aired stretched shows, the other night SHREK was on and it looked like a stretched show.
Waiting to see USA and SCIFI.
They say SPEED HD is coming this month, Speeds web site says Feb 2008.

I just saw a baseball game in HD on TBS-HD. No captioning though.

Man, what a teaser. BravoHD flips on just in time for Top Chef finale and all we get is black bars.

Bummer.

Right now, there's bandwidth to burn, so D* will put up anything with "HD" in their name. But give it a few months and the transponders will get tight and it'll be put up or shut up time.

I've been watching. I hate the "Hung your food is technically fantastic but we don't get your soul in it." It's such B.S. When I go to eat good food, I want good food, not someone's soul. They're selling a Casey win anyway.

Well, it's an expression, like when I tell someone "put your heart in it" I don't expect them to perform a auto sternotomy.

Is anyone other than me wondering why the marathon of "Friday Night Lights" they're running on Bravo HD right now is using the letterboxed 4:3 version instead of 16:9 HD?? I mean this is a VERY recent show that was shot in HD, so WTF? Black bars at top, bottom, and sides? Boy, what a way to launch an HD channel! :nono2: My 65" TV is showing 2/3 of the picture it would get on Bravo SD, so what's the point?

Checked BravoHD today also, Friday Night Lights is on. These programs were originally broadcast in HD. On BravoHD they are not in HD.

First noticed this on Scifi channel (HD programs not being shown in HD). Something fishy going on.

It looks like this is another situation where D* lit up a channel before the network had actually made the switch. I don't see "HD" on their bug (which is still within the 4:3 area) and, like others have said, Friday Night Lights is available in HD. Hopefully, this network and SciFi will make the switch soon.

The movie Harlem Nights looked like it was in HD last night. It at least filled up the whole screen and Bravo hasn't been doing stretch-o-vision.

Just give them time, they probably were not ready like SciFi wasn't. The NBC channels have been doing a pretty good job once they get up and going so give em some time.
