I see that I have this channel right now. What package is it a part of? Am I seeing a free preview right now? Does it only come with League Pass?

It should be part of the Sports Pack and part of NBA League Pass. At least the SD channel is and the HD channel should be the same.

I don't receive the SD channel, but I do receive the HD channel. It's strange, but I'm not complaining!

NBAHD looks great. Just wanted to point this out. I have a 61 inch Samsung dlp in the LR and a 40 inch Maxent plasma in the game room. The plasma was something like 899 and is obvioulsy not regarded very high by people looking for a top line plasma. The picture on this TV in HD is AWESOME. I actually prefer it over my Samsung.

Amazing the picture you can get out of cheap plasmas. I remember when they first came out when I was in college, a 40 inch plasma was like 20k.

That's because the Maxent is a Panasonic panel with a cheaper chipset. It looks phenomenol for high light viewings. The chipset is only evident on dark shady scenes as illustrated on ESPNHD. Try to watch ESPN HD when it's in 4:3 mode with the ESPNHD filler bars on the side; watch that lovely shade of gray mvoe around from black to bright grey all by itself (bad DC restoration on that panel).

Same here. I was also wondering if we will keep this channel or if it is a free preview. I don't subscribe to the sports back or the NBA package.

I just randomly found NBA TV in HD while they were doing their previews. Their studio HD shots looked fantastic, as did their HD graphics. This is gonna be a big addition for the NBA season. Really looking forward to it.

NBA TV SD has always required either Sports Pack or NBA LP, so I can't imagine the HD channel being any different. It's probably just a mistake.

I was kinda surprised to get this channel yesterday. I didn't check the SD version, but the HD was up. Depending on how the NHL channel is packaged, I may have to add the Sports Pack to my line up.
